Pat Moss Obituary, Death Cause – A man who has been detained at the Richmond County Jail for more than two days on suspicion of murdering his own father is currently being kept there. Sheriff Mark Gulledge made the announcement that 20-year-old Trevor Kenan Moss had been taken into custody on Saturday afternoon. Moss is being investigated for his alleged involvement in the death of his father, Pat Moss. A previous notification made by the sheriff’s office indicated that deputies were summoned to a residence on Bed Rock Road at approximately 5:52 a.m.
On Thursday, May 11, “in reference to a person being shot.” Bed Rock Road is located west of Rockingham off of Zion Church Road. According to the reports, responding deputies discovered one male victim who had already passed away at the scene. That victim has now been identified as Pat Moss. At 11:41 in the morning, Trevor Moss was apprehended by law enforcement and taken to the jail. Since that time, he has been detained at the same institution where he was booked on an open count of murder and is being held there without bond. Regarding this case, he is scheduled to appear before the judge on May 25.
The Responsible Officer made an effort in the afternoon of May 11 to verify the relationship, but they were instructed via email that the names would not be revealed because “some family has not been notified.” On Saturday, the sheriff made it clear that the entire family had been informed of the situation. Criminal defendants are presumed innocent by the court unless their guilt is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, and this presumption remains in place until the case is closed.
