Neil Coy Obituary, Death Cause – We are saddened to inform you of the demise of Neil Coy earlier this month. He was a well-known and respected figure in the sport of freshwater fishing all around the world. It is with great regret that we must proceed in this manner. His book, Fishing the South West, was a source of inspiration for many people who had spent their entire lives fishing in that region.
This was especially true for those individuals who had been fishing in that region. I will be saying prayers for him to have a good time fly fishing in the paradise that is waiting for him, and I will be praying that he catches a lot of large fish. R.I.P My recollection of him is quite clear and distinct. During the time that Neil was doing research for the book at Waroona dam, my father and I took advantage of the opportunity to fish there on the weekends and had conversations with him as well as all of the other fisho legends that were there.
During that same period, Neil was also working on the book he was going to write. The book makes a passing mention of my late father, but I haven’t been able to get my hands on a copy in such a long time that it’s nearly unheard of at this point! Neil, I would want to offer my appreciation to you for the joy that your lovely book brought me, and I pray that you are able to finally find rest in peace.
