
Giselle Brouillard Obituary, Death Cause – A member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit named Sr. Giselle Brouillard passed away on May 6, 2023 at the age of 90 at the St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, Connecticut. Giselle Béatrice Brouillard was born on November 20, 1932 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was the child of the late Antonio and Marie Jeanne (Descoteaux) Brouillard. She entered religious life in Putnam, Connecticut in 1949 and made her religious profession at the Motherhouse in St. Brieuc, France, on August 23, 1952. Giselle Béatrice Brouillard was the child of Antonio and Marie Jeanne (Descoteaux) Brouillard.
During that time, many referred to her as Sister Jeanne Antoine. She attended Diocesan Sisters’ College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. From 1953 until 1987, she worked as a teacher in elementary schools. St. Francis School in South Fitchburg, Massachusetts; St. John School in Plainfield, Connecticut; Holy Family School in Fairfield, Connecticut; and St. Joseph School in Burlington, Vermont were some of the schools in which she was employed as a teacher. After relocating to Anniston, Alabama in 1971, Sr. Giselle worked as a teacher at All Saints School before beginning her career in home health care on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
She finished her education in 1989 and became a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant. Beginning in 1989 and continuing until her retirement in 2004, she worked as a Home Health Aide for an agency located in Waterbury, Connecticut. Between the years of 2007 and 2016, she was an active member of the community at Provincial House. Since 2016, she has been a part of the community at St. Joseph Living Center. Sr. Giselle had a kind and generous spirit, and she was also the artist behind many beautiful quilts and other works of fabric art. I pray that God will give your soul peace.
