Daniel Graber Obituary, Death Cause – Officer Daniel Graber of the Pekin Police Department passed away.
On May 17, 2023 At 7:34 o’clock in the evening, Officer Daniel Graber, 49, from Pekin, Illinois, passed away. On December 27, 1999, Officer Graber took his oath of office and became a member of the Pekin Police Department. The 17th of May, 2023 was his final day of employment. Officer Graber had been with the department for the full 23 years when he retired.
Officer Graber worked as a patrolman and was assigned to the third shift for the entirety of his career. Before that, Officer Graber served with the Pekin Police Auxiliary as a member of that organization. Officer Graber enjoyed a high level of respect both from members of the community and from his fellow police.
Officer Graber got a total of four (4) letters of commendation for his service over the course of 23 years. The protection of life was implicated in three of these incidents. One of them was for his proactive policing and the arrests he made of those who were breaking into businesses.
Officer Graber additionally received two (2) letters of recognition and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Pekin City Council in 2003 by the then-Mayor Len Howard for another incident that entailed the saving of a life. This particular occurrence took place in 2003.
Officer Graber undoubtedly left his mark on the Pekin Community and will be sorely missed by all who knew and worked with him. Veterans Dr. in Pekin, Illinois. This weekend, the route will be shared on the Pekin Police Department’s Facebook page. If people want to show their support for the police officers and their families, the Pekin Police Department asks them to line up along the route if they want to do so. At this time, it is certain that the procession will go past City Hall, continue up Broadway until it reaches Court Street, and then proceed along Court Street until it reaches Veterans Drive.
